TALPA was founded by two engineers who spent years studying corrosion in reinforced concrete, both in the lab and in the field. We are disrupting this industry because we understand the problem from the inside out. We saw exactly how slow, dangerous, and fragmented traditional inspections were—so we built the technology to replace them.
Our Origin
TALPA was incorporated in May 2025 as an ETH Zürich spin-off, but the technology and the team behind have a longer history. Our co-founders met at ETH Zürich, where they built both the scientific foundation and the field experience that TALPA is built on.
The core insight came from years of studyng how electrochemical measurements actually work in reinforced concrete, not just how textbooks say they should work. When you understand the physics deeply enough, you see what is necessary and what is not.
TALPA is the result of removing everything that is not necessary, and keeping only what the physics requires.
